Memoirs of A Life in Music
P.F SLOAN AND S.E FEINBERG
ABOUT STEVE E. FEINBERG
I was born on the floor of Filene's Basement in Boston, Massachusetts during the pre-Christmas sales that my mother did not want to miss, even though heavy with child. Fortunately, there was an off-duty fireman nearby who caught me and welcomed me into the world of retail knock-offs and overstock reductions. I grew up in Southeastern Massachusetts, in the shadow of Brockton, home of Rocky Marciano. Although considered illiterate by the school system, I learned on my own to read and write poetry. After graduating from high school I entered the world of theatre. I found a sense of solace in the creative atmosphere of the stage and began writing, producing and directing plays that would win critical awards and find audiences around the world. Hired by Ladislas Farago, author of Patton, to adapt his stories, I moved to Topanga Canyon and began a long career writing and developing screenplays and books. Topanga is a perfect place for me my wife, Alice and my dog, Rosemary. I certainly hope you will enjoy reading the book as much as I enjoyed writing it. Love Steve
